WordPress Has Announced a Major Update That May Affect Your Website

We are notifying our client partners for all websites hosted with Tayloe/Gray, to ensure we can proactively address any questions, concerns or issues related to the release.

Name: WordPress 5.0 Gutenberg

Why it Matters: WordPress is fundamentally changing with the release of Gutenberg, which is focused on a foundational rebuild of the back-end content management system. It’s slated to be released with WordPress 5.0 and promises to be a game-changer for the world’s most-used CMS. While care is being taken to minimize incompatibilities with themes and plugins – there are no guarantees as to what will and won’t work together with this new editor.

Our Action: If your website is hosted with Tayloe/Gray, we’ve proactively installed a “classic editor” plugin recommended by our hosting provider to ensure that the Gutenberg release will not affect your website build, content management system, or any other features. This plugin will be in place through 2022, and will help us avoid any issues and/or downtime once the release is implemented.
