Josh Stevens

Senior Videographer

"Don't be careful. Careful kills"
-Jocko Willink

Josh is a diamond. He’s got facets. He’s precious, and (metaphorically) the hardest material on earth. In order of importance, Josh is a father, a son, a videographer, and a musician. And we’ve barely scratched the surface. Josh has an old square-body Chevy, and he turns a wrench on it often (maybe more often than he’d like).

When his dreams of being a combat reporter were derailed by an epilepsy diagnosis at age 16, Josh took a couple weeks and then hiked Pike’s Peak alone.

He’s never been one to sit idle. Growing up on a farm in York, Pennsylvania, Josh learned the value of hard work at a young age. He used his spare time to practice artistry. He picked up the guitar at age 8, and has never put it down, an accomplishment that is all the more impressive considering how often he holds a camera.

Josh began working for Tayloe/Gray as a hired gun, and quickly became our favorite contractor. The reasons are obvious to anyone who’s worked with him. Josh knows how to light, shoot, and edit video. He knows how to tell a story that resonates with an audience. He’s quick, hard-working, and does the extra work to capture the perfect scene.

As the son of two USAF veterans, Josh possesses an impressive knowledge of aircraft, and a deep respect for the armed forces. He made a meaningful impact in the lives of service members in 2022. Through his work on lobbying and media teams, Josh helped pressure the United States Congress to pass the PACT Act which provides veterans with medical assistance for health conditions arising from exposure to toxins during their service.

Josh has layers. But we went with the facets metaphor instead because that makes him a diamond, and not a smelly onion.
