Mickey Truck Bodies continues to be a leader in custom truck body manufacturing, renowned for its innovative solutions in beverage bodies, dry freight, and emergency response vehicles. Their commitment to quality extends to their eCommerce platform, Mickey Parts, where customers can easily order a wide range of parts and accessories to maintain and enhance their vehicles.

The Challenge

Mickey Truck Bodies approached Tayloe/Gray with a critical need to attract more talent for their expanding production operations. During our research, we identified an opportunity to enhance their talent acquisition efforts and update and expand Mickey's digital presence to attract new business. Leadership at Mickey agreed, and the project grew to include a comprehensive brand verbal and visual refresh, along with a custom redesign and development of both their main website and eCommerce platform.

The Results

Following extensive market research, our creative and development teams delivered a refreshed brand, updated messaging, and a custom web design that efficiently showcased Mickey's manufacturing expertise. The new digital presence made it easy for users to navigate their truck body offerings, parts catalog, fleet services, and career opportunities. Simultaneously, our strategic digital marketing team launched targeted talent acquisition campaigns across Google, LinkedIn, and Facebook, supported by landing pages designed to drive potential hires to Mickey’s revitalized digital doorstep.

Design

With over a century of industry leadership, Mickey Truck Bodies is a well-recognized name on the road. Our design team carefully balanced the brand's history with the need for a refreshed, modern digital experience. We introduced new visual elements highlighting key product features, accompanied by prominent calls-to-action that guided users through the site.

A thoughtfully crafted font system was implemented to convey hierarchy and draw attention to Mickey’s products and services. Our design efforts dramatically improved the brand’s digital impact across desktop and mobile platforms.

Technology

To ensure Mickey Truck Bodies' web presence matched its reputation for innovation, Tayloe/Gray overhauled the main brand site and the Mickey Parts eCommerce platform. Our developers simplified the user experience, adding clear calls-to-action that guide users to key resources, services, and products. We created detailed product displays with interactive hot-spot features, allowing users to expand and reveal product specifications. Additionally, recognizing the importance of Mickey Fleet Services, we built a custom locator map to help users find Mickey-approved service providers across the U.S.

eCommerce

For the eCommerce platform, we migrated all product, order, and customer data from Magento to MIVA, enhancing site performance and implementing features like a streamlined Manage Quotes system, precise shipping rate calculations, and automated tax collection through Avalara. Custom payment options, including Net Terms and Discount Price Groups, were also introduced to cater to regular fleet customers. Fully responsive and mobile-friendly, Mickey’s new site is "designed to work and built to last," with ongoing optimization to support their evolving business needs and ensure exceptional customer service.
