Mickey Truck Bodies has led the pace of change — designing and building the first all-aluminum trailer, which set a new industry standard for lightweight, maximum payload capacity, durability, and marked a major turning point in the history of the beverage distribution industry.

The Challenge

Mickey Truck Bodies arrived on Tayloe/Gray’s doorstep with a need to acquire more talent for increased production. During our research, we immediately recognized a need to update and expand Mickey's digital experience to attract talent and new business as well. Leadership at Mickey agreed and we launched a bigger project to include a brand verbal and visual refresh, plus a custom redesign and development of their main and eCommerce websites. As brand, marketing and tech experts, our team jumped at the opportunity to refine the brand image, messaging, web experience and collateral required to ensure Mickey's hiring success and long-term growth.

The Results

After extensive market research, our creative and development teams presented a brand refresh, messaging and custom web design – efficiently showcasing Mickey's manufacturing expertise alongside their collection of truck bodies and parts within an easy-to-navigate digital presence. The end result provided Mickey Truck Bodies with a focused and modernized web experience, as well as a single stop shop for product features, fleet services, replacement parts, career opportunities and more. In addition, our strategic digital marketing team simultaneously ran targeted talent acquisition ad campaigns across Google, LinkedIn, and Facebook with call-to-action focused landing pages — intentionally designed to drive new talent to Mickey’s updated digital doorstep. Mickey Truck Bodies set the industry standard for high-quality truck bodies as the first to design and build lightweight, all-aluminum, maximum payload capacity trailers. Well-known and recognized on the road for 100 years and counting — Mickey Truck Bodies is an industry leader. Knowing this, our team worked to maintain the brand history while refreshing and modernizing their digital experience. Our web designers creatively integrated new visual elements to accentuate key product features alongside prominent calls to action. Additionally, we implemented a thoughtfully crafted font system that effectively conveyed hierarchy to push the brand's products and services forward. Our teamwork dramatically enhanced the brand's digital impact, both on desktop and mobile.

Rooted in innovation, Mickey Truck Bodies needed a web presence to match. Our developers got to work on both of Mickey's sites, the main brand site and e-Commerce for parts — simplifying the user experience and adding clear call-to-action to the most important resources, services and products. We also built detailed product displays with interactive hot-spot features to expand and reveal product specifications or more information. Mickey Fleet Services is a major part of the business, so we further built a custom locator map to find Mickey-approved service providers anywhere in the U.S. Always fully responsive and easy to explore on mobile, Mickey's new site is "designed to work and built to last."

For Mickey's strategic marketing initiatives, we amplified the brand's reach by cultivating a vibrant online community through organic social media management and compelling email campaigns. Our main goal was to target manufacturing and management talent, bolstering Mickey's talent acquisition initiatives. Today we continue to manage Mickey's social presence with a mix of content topics to keep growth and engagement on the rise. We also continue to support Mickey's marketing initiatives with internal and external newsletters plus trade show design elements, including a branded truck wrap. The holistic impact of our collaborative efforts celebrates Mickey Truck Bodies' enduring legacy and future success.
